![]() ![]() Check out the trailer for the DLC down below.ĭying Light is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and as a cloud-exclusive release for Nintendo Switch. It’s a bundle containing new content in the form of a chainsaw called Gut Render (which can be used to decapitate enemies and cause a bleeding effect, while also having an increased critical damage chance), an SMG called Greaser, a sawblade melee weapon called Flesh Ripper, a new outfit called Punk’d Beret, and a new (more fuel efficient) buggy called Rugged Roadster to drive in Dying Light: The Following. The new DLC, called Dieselpunk, has gone live. Interestingly, it seems the developers are not yet done adding new content to the original game, as Techland has revealed another new DLC for it. ![]() And just like those games it tried to do too many things without being particularly good at any of them.Techland’s open-world zombie game Dying Light has been getting plenty of updates over the years, even so long after its launch, and even though the game’s sequel has been out for over three months itself and has been getting its own frequent updates. I think if they leaned more towards campyness it'd be better instead of trying to hire and then fire Chris Avellone.ĭL1 made me feel like an action movie star, this just makes me feel like I'm playing a ubisoft game. Man I really hope weapon crafting comes to dying light 2. It would absolutely ruin your day, if not kill you if stabbed in the right area. Story was really just depressing too and by three quarters in i was just skipping dialogue because I got bored of it. If you were stabbed directly in a non armored fleshy body area, it would slice through you and leave silica shards in you. Parkour is alright I'll say that, the gliders pretty fun starting out though I really hate the later air drops where theyre on super tall buildings where it seems like the only way to get to them is abusing the boost function on the glider, i wish that the grappling hook had a few more uses to it and that it and the UV flashlight had their own dedicated buttons as opposed to being in the same slots as molotovs and throwing knives. Combat is still mostly just grinding until you get the instant kill moves. ![]() Subway stations are literally all the same, side quests are really irritating as well especially having to go to the old man constantly for the book club questline, the loot system really sucks with gear having levels at the endgame, the drained city is really small, kinda badly designed, and not fun to play in considering the drowned zombies there do nothing but run at you and explode. Games a bit too bloated with boring content. There are 2 factions, one of the faction's introduction is that they try to hang you, why would I side with that faction? just keep 1 faction and make them well written.Īll in all on it's own this game is at best a 7/10, compared to DL1 it's more like a 4/10, the atmosphere is absolutely garbage, the ""RPG"" mechanics shouldn't have been there at all, and the characters are (and I hate this word) cringe. The characters feel like they were written by a man or a woman who thinks that badass means swearing and acting tough and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-ish, I'm half-way through the story and none of the characters are slightly likable, even some of DL1's garbage characters feel better than this because they were genuine in how they act and weren't written to be forcibly your friends. The gameplay (on it's own) is OK, feels like something I played 10 times before with the RPG mechanics and such, however I prefer DL1's gameplay because your attacks were animated through model itself and it wasn't a fake animation drawn on the screen, at least that's what it feels like in 2.Ĭompared to DL1 it feels worse in almost every way, DL1 excelled not because of story, choices or RPG mechanics, it felt good because the atmosphere alone carried that game like nothing else, night felt scary in Harran, when it's day you can almost feel the warmth of the sun. You can tell what the game tried to do before they removed Chris Avellone on false allegations, the game suffered a lot of because of it. ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugsįake choices, you choose something but regardless of what happens most choices end up the same way. ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks ![]()
